The now passes on debt to the future, so in effect we act out of assuming our descendants will pay off those debts, on the condition that they can always print them away to take on more debt. Future-residents inherit more of what we have than we ever could have. And so are worth more to us. Because they are worth more we should be more considerate of them in the now and do less in the past to correct for what boundaries we could yet hold to upkeep.
